A Message From SAAPHI’s Membership Committee

11 Jul

Greetings,

Our names are Brittany Marshall and Falil Oritola and we are the Membership Committee Co-Chairs for the Society for the Analysis of African American Public Health Issues, better known as SAAPHI.

First, we would like to thank you for joining our YahooGroup; it is wonderful to see 315 persons who are united in our journey towards eliminating disparities and improving the overall health of African-Americans. As a (501c3) non-profit public health organization in relation with the American Public Health Association (APHA), SAAPHI is comprised of fellows, scholars, students, faculty, and public health professionals from around the nation.

We have hardworking board members seeking to advance SAAPHI on a national scale and within APHA. At times our growth as an organization has been restricted not by diligence, but by financial limitations. SAAPHI has the potential to excel and stand out with the right amount of financial participation from our membership netowrk. Will you help us in our goal to reach 70% active participation through the payment of membership dues?

Your financial investment in SAAPHI will only yield positive results for the African American public health community. Membership dues will do a number of positive things for the organization and allow the organization to invest back into its membership as a result. Please visit the SAAPHI website (http://www.saaphi.org/#!membership/c1gzt) and become financially active today. Dues are $40 for professionals and $25 for students annually.

For further information, we can be reached at saaphimembership@gmail.com

Thank you,
Brittany Marshall and Falil Oritola
